Policy on Violent and Abusive Patients

We aim to treat out patients courteously at all times and expect our patients to treat our staff in a similar respectful way.

We have a zero tolerance to threatening, abusive or violent behaviour against any of our staff or patients, such behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. The NHS is firmly of the view that all those who work in, or provide services to the NHS have the right to do so without fear of violence or abuse.

If a patient is violent or abusive, they will be asked to stop, if they persist, we may exercise our right to take action to have them removed, immediately if necessary from our practice list.
